The Whiterock Triathlon (WRT), one of the longest running multisport events in the country, is set to return for the ninth straight year at the Whiterock Waterpark and Beach Hotel in Subic, Zambales on Saturday.
eXtribe, a sports lifestyle company specializing in sports events organization and management, has decided to go green for this event as it does away with disposable plastic cups and introduces reusable drinking containers for the first time since 2004. Reusable eco-bags will also be used as race packets.
The course consists of a two-kilometer swim leg at the beachfront of the hotel, a 91-km bike route which will pass through several towns in the area, and a 20-km run leg which will cover portions of the road from Subic Town to Olongapo.
Competitors, both male and female, will race for the top three overall positions. The top three finishers in each of the age group categories, excluding overall winners, will also be awarded.
Summit Drinking Water and 100plus sports drinks will be readily available along the various hydration stations along the route.
The event is made possible in partnership with Whiterock Waterpark and Beach Hotel, the Province of Zambales, the City of Olongapo, and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority. It is supported by Wicked Active Gear, The Body Shop, Marithe + Francois Girbaud, Blue Cross, Paragon Printing, David’s Salon, Speedo, New Balance, Luntian Bags, Shimano, Summit Drinking Water, and 100plus. Media Partners include Business World, Men’s Health, Multisport Philippines, Total Fitness Magazine, and Spin.ph.
