FILIPINO RESIDENT EVIL fans might have a massive theorycrafting session stuck in their imagination where the T-virus plagued the Pearl of the Orient.

Can you imagine how things would turn out if the Philippines ended up affected with a zombie-mutant disease?

Well Brand New Company and !rregular Programming content creator, Den Gerard, published a video essay detailing the Resident Evil universe in the Philippines.

Who would be the evil company behind the scenes, where will the virus outbreak begin, who will end up as our version of Chris Redfield? Here's what the BNC and IP content creator has to say.

Unilab is the Umbrella Corporation

In one of the most hilarious hypothetical scenarios, Gerard mentioned that Unilab will be the one responsible for spreading the zombie outbreak.

In fact in his video he did a lot of research where he noticed some Umbrella products that have their counterparts in Unilab.

Umbrella's Adravil is regarded to deal with flesh wounds, similar to Unilab's Trimycin. Then there's Aqua Cure which is Umbrella's way of helping females in terms of physical recovery, similar to Unilab's Athena.

However in the Resident Evil series, the first aid spray is considered to be the most iconic item in the game due to its massive healing effects and while there is no direct counterpart due to the insane recovery of the spray, Unilab's WariActiv could be the answer to Umbrella's signature healing item.

How will the Outbreak happen?

Unilab's evil schemes begin with one important assessment of the Filipino market, their obsession with whitening products.

Eventually, Unilab's special whitening soap became a popular product to the point where Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla started endorsing it, causing Unilab's sales to skyrocket.

Due to the success of their product, Unilab started to create a more advanced chemical product that allows the user to have a whiter skin tone.

However, it turns out that the chemical contains the Golgotha virus aka G-virus, which was renamed as Glutathighon.

The chemicals were tested in Lipa, Batangas and the rest was history.

Enemies

Resident Evil's most iconic enemies range from the gruesome lickers, frog-like hunters, and the zombie dogs. It even reached a level of extreme when gigantic mutated creatures emerge.

Will it be the same for the Philippines? According to Gerard, zombie dogs and hunters will be the common special foes, given the numerous askals and frogs in the country. Early iterations of Resident Evil showcased mutated snakes and crocodiles, which will also exist in the Philippine setting.

As for the common zombie infected? Given the usual pambahay outfit of Filipinos, expect to see our zombies with sandos, basketball shorts, or the old school jejemon apparel. Heck some zombies might end up shirtless with beer bellies.

Cast of characters

But besides the varied enemies, Resident Evil is also renowned for its cast of characters and Gerard created some characters based from the main series. He even gave hints on who should be the actors/actresses involved.

James Marcus the main antagonist of the prequel Resident Evil 0, was renamed as Jimmy Marcos. He will be portrayed by legendary Filipino actor Jaime Fabregas.

Then there's Annette Birkin, the mother of Sherry Birkin, who was renamed as Ann-Ann Baquiran. According to Gerard, Dra. Vicki Bello would be the ideal actress.

As for the game's breathtaking baddies. Eric "Eruption" Tai was chosen to be Nemesis or in this case 'Katunggali.' Then there's Ian Veneracion or Albert Martinez who was handpicked to be Albert Wesker or Alberto Wenseslao.

For the main heroes, Gerald Anderson was chosen to be Chris Redfield or Krisanto Pulanglupa, while Enrique Gil or Joshua Garcia was theorized to be Leon Kennedy or Leon Katipunan.

Then for the femme fatales, Sue Ramirez or Janine Gutierrez could be Claire Redfield or Christina Pulanglupa, while Liza Soberano might be perfect for Jill Valentine or Jillian Valentina.

And of course, there's many more from the creative mind of Den Gerard and hopefully we could see more theorycrafting from him under Brand New Company.
