WATCH: ‘Resident Evil’ TV series heads to Netflix, releases creepy trailer

AS Capcom gears up for the release of Resident Evil VIII: Village, it’s also making the moves on an all-new platform: Netflix.

During last weekend’s Tokyo Game Show (where a developer walkthrough for RE VIII was also unveiled), the video game company also took the wraps off a Resident Evil TV series coming to Netflix.

Take a look. It’s not so much scary as it is moody and creepy, but your scary movie mileage may vary. Keep the lights on to be safe.

Unlike the live action movies starring Milla Jovovich, the series will be all CGI. And — also unlike the movies — it will have stronger ties to the in-game universe.

Resident Evil has actually released a couple of tie-in CGI movies through the years. But this is the first time it’ll be stretched out into a full limited series, on one of the planet’s most popular streaming platforms, to boot.
