THE UFC is excited to expand its presence in the Philippines after it announced it will open the first of 30 MMA-inspired gyms in the country early next year.
UFC Gym announced a 10-year partnership with the Fitspiration Philippines Corporation to open 30 locations throughout the country with the first signature branch scheduled to open in early 2017 at Glorietta mall in Makati.
“We’re very excited to embark on this exclusive partnership to expand UFC Gym's global footprint throughout the Philippines,” UFC Gym Chief Executive Officer Brent Leffel said.
“Filipino fight fans understand our brand and partnering with Fitspiration PH is a perfect fit to help Manilla’s fitness enthusiasts ‘Train Different’ while working to achieve their individual fitness goals,” he added.
A new player in the country’s fitness industry, Fitspiration PH aims to develop the UFC brand to the public with its unique alternative fitness programs.
“In almost two decades of bringing major players in the fitness industry to the country, I know a winner when I see it and make no mistake, UFC Gym is a winner,” Fitspiration PH President Mark Dayrit said.
“A strong international brand built from the ground up, coupled with a unique, and perhaps more importantly, family-friendly lineup of MMA-inspired programs will undoubtedly breathe new life to the fitness industry here in the Philippines. This exactly what Filipinos have been waiting for and soon enough, everyone in the country will finally be able to ‘Train Different,'” he added
UFC executive vice president and general manager – Asia Kenneth Berger was thrilled with the partnership, specifically with the Dayrits considering their long long history of providing the Philippines with state-of-the-art training and fitness facilities.
“Asia is one of the UFC’s fastest growing markets and fight fans in the Philippines are some of the most passionate around the world. We are excited to be leading the way, making MMA more accessible for Filipino fans to train and increase their fitness through the sport," he said
