THESE student-athletes spent long months of hard trainings, personal sacrifice, and self-discipline to prove themselves great at the anticipated UAAP Season 82 Volleyball Tournament.
But due to the pandemic, league officials decided to cancel the whole season as the government issued a two-week lockdown extension on Tuesday, April 7.
The tournament only had four playdates for the season and many players, though completely understanding the circumstance, aired their dismay on social media.

Her older sister EJ Laure, one of the season's most awaited comebacks, also expressed her dismay:
Rookie Imee Hernandez also tweeted how disheartening the news is for her.
Risa Sato, the National University Lady Bulldogs’ team captain, bid her own goodbye to the season that was supposedly her last playing year. She also commended her team, who in the brief and aborted season led the race with two wins.
Meanwhile, NU men’s veteran libero Ricky Marcos tweeted that finding out the season’s over hurt him more than a heartbreak over a relationship.
Defending champions Ateneo Lady Eagles also aired their reactions online as they had to let go of the chance to defend their title in the leage:
Adamson University’s rookie captain Louie Romero also weighed in:
University of the Philippines rookie Louis Gamban, who made headlines for his charming in-game attitude, chose to shrug off the sad vibes and look forward to the upcoming seasons.
Finally, University of the East graduating player Mean Mendrez recalled her best memory of the season.
