Students from the DLSU senior high school took part in Archer’s Play on March 28, 2023, in which parlor games and traditional Filipino games were played. The event was part of the DLSU Strands Fest 2023, a festival for the different strands or courses going into college.
One particular game during Archer’s Play amused people on social media as it involved a pair of Crocs Classic Slide and a Hydro Flask tumbler to play tumbang preso.

What is tumbang preso?
Tumbang preso or tumbang lata (literally “knock down the prisoner” or “knock down the can”) is a traditional Filipino game that involves throwing a slipper at a can to knock it down, while the “it” or taya guards the can.
The objective of the taya is to tag the other players while they are retrieving their slippers. Once tagged, they become the it or the taya. Variations of the game involve the taya putting the can inside a small circle a few meters away from the toe-line. Two toe lines are drawn on opposite sides and are closer to the circle. When the hitters run out of slippers, the taya chases them. Hitters on one side will act as bait while those on the other side will try to kick the can, all while avoiding being tagged.
