WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD! If you haven't finished Arcane, it isn't advisable to read the article unless you want to get spoiled.
Netflix's Arcane was one hell of a rollercoaster ride given the plethora of emotional plotlines from the very beginning all the way to the end.
Who would've thought that a terrorist would end up being one of the most beloved characters in the series, and who would've considered a scientist with good intentions, to suddenly become an antagonist.
Then we wouldn't forget that time when Caitlyn, who is one of the most good natured characters in the series, horrified us by emerging as a dictator, or that time when Jayce made us go bonkers for ruining a family reunion, only for him to end up as the ultimate savior.
And the list goes on, from an alternate universe featuring Ekko and Powder, to the very end of the series, which made us intrigued if this was really the end of the series or are there various possibilities ahead?
Let's take a deeper look.
Is Jinx alive or dead?
Riot Games and Fortiche did a great job in closing the chapter of Piltover, but also opening the doors for some theories that left fans scrambling on social media.
On Twitter/X, there have been numerous discussions on whether Jinx survived or not. In the finale, Jinx sacrificed herself to protect Vi from Warwick's (Vander) uncontrollable wrath, which saw both Jinx and her father descend towards a Hextech core.
As both Jinx and Warwick went down the drain, Jinx pulled out a grenade and an explosion occurred, which suggested that Jinx and Warwick both died.
But is that really the case? Here were some theories that fans pointed out.
The purple explosion suggests Jinx may have used her flash ability to escape.
Digging deep into the final sequences, Caitlyn went through the archives to check on the core's architecture. There were blueprints which hinted that an escape route was possible. Caitlyn then started smiling, while holding a remnant of Jinx's grenade.
There was even a touching moment which seem to reference the first episode of Season 1. Back when Powder was still young, she looked at the skies and told her peers that she wanted to fly in an airship.
The final scene in Arcane showed an airship, which could hint that Jinx was able to fulfill her dream. The phrase 'The End' was seen, involving Jinx's signature artstyle.
So does this mean Jinx is alive? What happened to her father?
Will Swain make an appearance in the future?
While the second season marks the end of the Arcane series, there are reports that Riot Games might be brewing something in the future which could involve the other universes found in the League of Legends lore.
Arcane focused heavily on the disputes between Piltover and Zaun, which became complicated due to the involvement of the Noxian empire. Eventually we learned more about Ambessa's ulterior motives.
But as the 2nd season ends, fans got a chance to witness the departure of the Noxian Empire into the politics of Piltover, and while doing so, a black raven appears. Is this a sign that the Noxian Grand General, Swain, will appear in the future? There were even hints of the raven touching upon a Hextech marble.
Given the ending, Noxus could be the main focal point of Riot Games' new animated project, especially since there were scenes which gave glimpses of a war against another nation...Demacia?
What about Jayce, Viktor, and Heimerdinger?
Seeing Heimerdinger sacrifice his himself to bring Ekko back into his own timeline, followed by an emotional debate featuring Jayce and Viktor might have brought some tears to our eyes.
Then when considering their fate in the series, it makes us wonder if these characters are officially dead?
The official texts reveal that these characters have disappeared and their fates remain unknown, highlighting the power of Hextech.
We've already witnessed Ekko and Jayce travelling across various timelines and universes using Hextech and given the technology's prominence in League of Legends lore, we might see its prevailence in Riot's upcoming animated projects.
