THE arena was strangely, eerily quiet as the Lakers tearfully celebrated their championship run. But the noise, the party, and the cheers were all over Twitter as Lakers Nation celebrated the win.
By the middle of the fourth quarter, the city of Los Angeles was already rolling out the red carpet.
The Lakers completely steamrolled the Heat, 106-93, in a game that put a definitive end to the 2020 NBA season.
Every player on the bench was in championship form as the Lake Show completely outscored and outplayed Miami.
At the fourth quarter, Twitter was all about the NBA.
Lakers, Miami, Herro, Dragic, and LeBron were already trending on the social network. Even Rondo (who showed up in a massive way tonight) was almost hitting 100,000 thousand tweets by the middle of the fourth.
And at the close of the game, all the pent-up emotion of the past season — the strangest, most eventful in NBA history — was unleashed on social media. Just scrolling through the tweets, especially the ones paying tribute to Kobe, is enough to bring a tear to the eye.
For Kobe
LeBron did it
What a season it’s been for AD
Other clubs pay tribute
Makes sense
No. 17 reacts to Lakers’ 17th ring
This is fantastic
Give it up for Rondo
All quiet on the hater front
One sided all the way
This Crowder "crowd control" moment was a Twitter fave
So was this airball
Not the time to have an off night
Ever since his “green” episode, Bronny memes have been constant in this series
It was a good fight. Just not this game
Well, when all is said and done, there's only one thing to be said: Congratulations, Lakers!
