EXECUTIVE OF 2024
MANY will agree that Carlos Yulo’s two gold medals in the 2024 Paris Olympics was due to his hardwork, determination, and discipline in training that allowed him to become one of the best gymnasts in the world.
But one could also argue the intercession of Cynthia Carrion also made it possible.

As president of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines, Carrion was responsible for opening doors for Yulo, first when the former helped send the latter several years ago to Japan for an intensive, long-term training under the auspices of coach Munehiro Kugimiya.
Back home, Carrion was able to convince different entities to help in the construction of GAP’s training center in Intramuros, the same venue where Yulo was able to train during his build-up for the Olympics.
And when Yulo had a falling out with his parents, Carrion served as his mother figure.
Those efforts bore fruit when Yulo made history in the Paris Olympics. And for that, Carrion is adjudged as the Executive of the Year of SPIN.ph for 2024.
