ON MONDAY morning (Sunday night in their time zone), Snoop Dogg was present during the San Antonio Spurs-Los Angeles Lakers NBA game, where Spurs mascot the Coyote acknowledged his presence by offering him a San Antonio jersey. It didn't stop the living hip-hop legend, though, from rooting for his hometown Lakers — from behind the broadcaster's desk.
The rapper providing play-by-play commentary in the third quarter was everything you expected it to be and more:
Then again, when has Snoop Dogg ever needed a beat and rhyme just to be the "highest" entertainer? His signature freestyle and flow is ever-present even in the way he speaks, which is a No. 1 record in itself.
Need proof? Remember his viral nature program Plizzanet Earth on Jimmy Kimmel Live?
What about that time he did SnoopCast with the UFC and Urijah Faber?
Or when he called the hockey match between the Kings and Penguins?
Snoop shamelessly cheering for the Purple and Gold turned out to be a hit, as the Lakers held off the Spurs, 103-96. LeBron James had 21 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds, while Dwight Howard had 14 markers on 7-of-7 shooting and 13 boards.
Seriously, just give the man an NBA commentating gig.
