TEACHER Sisi Rondina, how’s the sound of that?
The high-flying Rondina took her last flight with University of Santo Tomas women’s volleyball team and she’s looking to move on to her next goal: finish her degree in Sports and Wellness Management and become a teacher.
From their humble home in Cebu, Rondina earnestly wished of giving her family a better life. The UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball MVP never imagined she'd gain so much more.
“Ang gusto ko naman talaga mabigyan ng bahay ang family ko, makapagtapos ‘yung mga kapatid ko and more than enough binigyan pa ako ng chance [mag-aral],” she said after UST fell short of the title, losing to Ateneo on Sunday at the MOA Arena.
While other players who graduated took on coaching gigs, Rondina is determined to teach Physical Education very soon.
Joke lang,” she added.
Rondina’s fans, however, need not fret because volleyball will still very much a part of her future.
She will reunite with her teammates in Petron as they try to win their third straight championship in the Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference, which kicks off in June.
