ALL Nick Young wanted was for recently retired teammate Kobe Bryant to sign his pair of adidas shoes on Wednesday night (Thursday, Manila time).
Instead of an autograph, he got something unexpected.
In a report from the Sporting News' Jordan Heck, Young's shoes reportedly ended in the trash.
In his exit interview, "Swaggy P."said he was among the Lakers players who lined up for the Black Mamba's autograph on their selected pieces of gear. Young, who signed a deal to wear adidas, chose to give Bryant, one of Nike's major endorsers, a pair of sneakers that were once Kobe signature shoes.
Bryant, who started his NBA career with adidas, literaly disposed Young's sneakers and told him to get a pair of Nikes if he wanted an autographed pair.
"He threw my shoes in the trash, but that's Kobe for you," Young said. "I was a little disappointed in that, but, you know, he could not end without something like that."
Instead, Kobe signed a stat sheet of his 60-point farewell game and even had a photo taken with Young's son.
