The lead-up to the 30th Southeast Asian Games has been anything but aesthetically pleasing.
Over the weekend, images of foreign athletes sleeping on hotel floors and stuck at the airport, waiting for their shuttle made rounds on social media. Photos of the still-unfinished renovation of the Rizal Memorial Stadium, specifically the press room, have also surfaced online hours before the football competition started on Monday.
Days prior its opening ceremony, the country's hosting of the biennial multi-sport event is turning out to be a sorry sight a number of organizational blunders from the organizers and planners behind the Games.
These signage failures should have served as a warning:
We almost didn't see the SEA Games welcome message
Apologists: You forgot the cost of the acrylic display stand
At least PHISGOC succeeded in making migraine-inducing signs
