SCOTTIE Thompson rushed to the hospital immediately after Barangay Ginebra's close win over Blackwater to be with wife Jinky, who went into labor on Friday.
Thompson headed straight out of the Philsports Arena following the Gin Kings’ dramatic victory to be by the side of Jinky at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City.

Incidentally, it was Thompson who delivered the assist that led to Japeth Aguilar jumper from the left corner with a second left that won it for the Kings.
Ginebra coach Tim Cone said Thompson was only informed of the situation right after the game, on the insistence of Jinky.

The social media-savvy couple is awaiting their third child.
“His wife is delivering as we speak,,” said Cone. “They didn’t tell him during the game. They waited until the game was over. They told him immediately after the game that his wife is in the hospital delivering.
“He is not going to be dugout. He literally was from there (basketball court), he left and went to his car. He is on his way to the hospital,” said Cone.
Cone said even the coaching staff didn’t know about the situation.
“It was nice of his wife not to insist on telling him to come right away. He told him right after the game is over. And that’s where he found out, when the game was over,” said Cone.
