WILL the sibling rivalry between the Santiago sisters, Jaja and Dindin, be rekindled in the Japan V.Premier League?
The twin towers' elder sister, Diane, confirmed to SPIN.ph that a new club team has offered Dindin to see action in the 2019-20 Season of the top-level overseas tournament.
Although Diane didn't reveal the team, she said the news has been circulating around social media for quite some time now.
"Siya na lang ang tanungin niyo pero nasa Twitter naman na," she shared on Tuesday during the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum at Amelie Hotel Manila. "Ibang team na, sa Japan pa rin,"
Jaja is set to return to Ageo Medics, while Dindin, who previously played for Toray Arrows, will reportedly join Kurobe Aquafaries.
In the past couple of weeks, the youngest Santiago was on the receiving end of online bashing after she was not allowed by the Medics to suit up for the Philippines in the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
But after the storm of hateful words were thrown at the 6-foot-5 middle blocker's way, blessings have come to the Santiago family.
Diane said, "Siyempre as a family masaya kasi dalawang kapatid mo ang nasa Japan, na-recognize ang skills. Like 'yan si Jaja todo-bash ang mga tao then may dumating [na offer] kay Dindin. So sige lang, bash lang kayo eh 'yung blessings dumarating lang sa amin."
She stressed that her sisters' respective Japan stints are their own way of representing the country. "Hindi naman sila magpapaganda o magbabaksyon lang doon. At saka kapag naglaro sila doon, sasabihin from the Philippines, so waving the flag pa rin naman ang gagawin ng dalawa."
