IN the absence of gunner Robert Bolick, NorthPort Batang Pier fell short to Blackwater Bossings, 96-89, in their opening game on Monday at the PBA Bubble in Clark, Pampanga.
With team management's decision to let him rest the whole conference, the young guard was seen on the game's virtual wall, looking pretty relaxed.
The photo immediately circulated the internet as netizens found it amusing that Bolick was watching the game lying down.
While it looked hilarious to some, the 25-year-old was actually feeling helpless at the time.
"I'm super sad and at the same time, hungry and motivated to come back. I'm counting days, as days go by, I'm getting closer and closer to coming back. I'm super ecstatic watching the game knowing na makakatulong sana ako sa team and it makes me super sad," he told SPIN Life.
Although he was cleared to play prior to the season, NorthPort opted to have him lined up for next year. After all, he needed more time to ensure his full recovery from his ACL injury.
As for the 25-year-old guard, he's just doing what he can to prepare himself for next season.
"Every day I wake up, I work out as if it was my last. That's how I repay the team for now. I can't wait. I will work as hard as I have ever worked. I have to repay yung sacrifices na ginagawa nila," he said.
He also added that his doctors targeted the last month of the year to declare him as fully recovered.
"Target date is December I can play full contact, pero, tapos naman na season by that time. So January next year, I'm good to go," he added.
