THE FALL GUY shines the spotlight bright on all the hardworking men and women who put their lives at risk for our entertainment in the world of cinema. David Leitch (Bullet Train and School of Rock) does a faithful rendition of storytelling behind the scenes of a movie set with this bombastic good time of an action flick.

-Minor Spoilers-
Thumbs Up For The Stunt Guy
After a Ken performance in Barbie for the ages, Ryan Gosling follows it up with another dashing performance as veteran stuntman Colt Seavers who gets embroiled in the star-studded murder of action star and professional douche Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).
Emily Blunt stars alongside Gosling as Jody Moreno, a former flame and now a debuting movie director.
Rounding up the cast are Winston Duke, popularly known as M’Baku from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Dan Tucker, Colt’s best friend and stunt coordinator, and Teresa Palmer as Iggy Starr, Tom Ryder’s girlfriend
The 126 minute runtime of The Fall Guy blows clean by with excellent pacing and exhilarating action scenes. Throughout the movie Colt Seavers gets punched, falls through buildings, gets into car crashes, and gets set on fire.
Just another day in the life of a stuntman I guess? Seavers is forced to juggle rekindling his love story with and solving the whodunnit of the murder of Tom Ryder.

A Well-Constructed Homage to Action
The movie serves as a perfect homage to the cinematography and the creative process of action scenes and the stuntmen that involve them. One of the highlight scenes of the movie for me was a brutal fisticuff between Seavers and, well, a bad guy inside of a spinning dumpster being dragged through the streets of downtown Sydney.
The camera work was a wonderful doozy of an experience and we gotta give much respect to Leitch and his team for such a well-crafted scene.
Ryder’s canine buddy Jean-Claude from a prior movie also ends up a scene stealer in the movie for all the animal-lovers out there. Seavers formed a bond with Jean-Claude after working with Ryder for so many years and let the adorable Australian Kelpie to help him in solving the mystery of the movie. Jean-Claude only listens to French commands and that made all of his scenes all the more hilarious.
Fans of the original series from the 1980s will also be happy to know that former star Lee Majors plays a fun cameo in this new movie. Lee Majors’ cameo interestingly isn’t the only star cameo in the movie but I won’t spoil that one for you because this one is beyond epic.
Ryan Gosling serves as one hell of a beautiful punching bag in the movie in the action as well as the comedy while Emily Blunt complements him nicely with her own brand of wit and charm. The Fall Guy is a perfect movie for a chill day-out or even a date that can make anyone’s day. It’s just a damn good time.
