RAMON Fernandez is the next basketball legend to be featured by the Philippine Postal Corporation (Philpost) on commemorative stamps.
The stamps Are set to be released in honor of the PBA great as part of the 75th anniversary of the first stamp of the Philippines. Part of the Outstanding Filipino Series 1, the stamps will be launched on Feb. 26.
Fernandez joins former Toyota teammate Robert Jaworski on the list of basketball figures immortalized on postal stamps. The Jaworski stamp was released in October 2021 with the launch being attended by Fernandez and current Barangay Ginebra players.

“He is deeply humbled by this once-in-a-lifetime recognition. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine landing on a stamp,” said Fernandez's wife Karla Kintanar-Fernandez in a post on Facebook.
Considered one of the greatest Filipino basketball players of all time, Fernandez holds several PBA records including scoring the most points in history with 18,996.
A 19-time PBA champion, Fernandez is also a four-time PBA MVP.
Fernandez is a currently a commissioner of the Philippine Sports Commission and chef de mission of Team Philippines to the upcoming Southeast Asian Games.
