ATHLETES and fans were outraged when BaliPure import Danijela Dzakovic hit her teammate Jewelle Bermillo during a game in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) on Sunday.
With BaliPure down 19-24 in the first set, the Filipino libero and the Montenigrin reinforcement had a digging miscommunication after Creamline spiker Jema Galanza launced an off-speed attack.

Dzakovic, frustrated over the miscue, hit Bermillo on the nape in a bizarre scene that left the BaliPure libero in tears and both players and fans angry on social media.
Ateneo libero Dani Ravena, Motolite libero Cien Cruz and Pacific Town-Army libero Tin Agno immediately reacted on Twitter.
Ravena, who saw action in the PVL Open Conference, posted a sad emoji while sharing a video of the attack that has since gone viral.
Agno was straightforward in saying that hitting someone on the head is wrong. Cruz replied to her post with a shocked emoji.
Liberos Jheck Dionela from Cignal and Dawn Macandili from F2 Logistics exchanged thoughts, while Jen Reyes of Foton retweeted Dionela's post.
Even players from Philippine Super Liga aired their sentiments on the incident. PLDT spiker Jorelle Singh even cursed over what happened.
Foton stalwart Marian Buitre did not bother to sugarcoat her reaction if the same thing happened to her.
PLDT star and former San Sebastian ace Grethcel Soltones used an angry emoji to prove her point.
Petron outside hitter Mela Tunay even said she'll call their import Kath Bell for back up.
Nazareth School of National University head coach Regine Diego and University of the East assistant coach Ron Dimaculangan did not hold back in saying that what happened was wrong.
Volleyball fans were also outraged with what happened.
Dzakovic, however, was quick to apologize for her sudden reaction. She immediately hugged Bermillo after what happened.
