ANGELES CITY – For now, members of the PBA family make up the virtual fans in the Philippine Cup reboot at the Angeles University Foundation gym.
Since the system is still on its trial stage, the league opted to have those in the PBA circle to be included in the video board shown during games starting with the Alaska-TnT Tropang Giga match on Sunday.
But by next week, slots will already be available for all PBA fans.
Among the familiar faces seen so far during the Aces-Tropang Giga encounter were Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) president Al S. Panlilio, also representative of Meralco to the league board, former Alaska big man Sonny Thoss, and some members of the PBA Press Corps.
Players, coaches, and team officials were allowed to have one of their loved ones or relatives to be included as part of the virtual fans.
