FROM the sidelines, Rizza Diaz takes on a new role as radio anchor for the PBA.
The PBA courtside reporter made her debut during the game between Alaska and Columbian, which the Aces won, 94-72, on Wednesday at the MOA Arena.
The opportunity was the perfect time for Diaz to try new things and expand her horizon.
“It was an invitation and a motivation from Patricia Hizon, my boss, to go take my career to another level,” she shared.
“I’ll still be there but this is another venue for me to be able to share my knowledge and skills,” she added. “Sakto rin kasi, just a few months ago I also joined ONE News as a News Anchor. So I’m leveling up if u may say.”
Although she’s been a courtside reporter for six years now, Diaz prepared a lot for her stint as a radio anchor.
“Anchoring play by play for radio is challenging,” she admitted.
“You have to be very descriptive, kasi ako ang mata ng mga nakikinig [sa radio] but I enjoyed it, it’s fun. Looking ahead I hope to be able to do it for TV,” she said.
Aside from the new challenge she gladly accepted, Diaz also felt proud to be the only female radio anchor for the PBA.
