ATHLETES need energy before every game or work out. Some prefer a full meal, while others a light snack.
For Petro Gazz team captain Paneng Mercado, a little fruit snack before and after a game hits the spot. “Healthy kasi [ang fruits], it has Vitamin C and kung sugar naman meron din siya,” she says. “Plus hindi siya mabigat sa katawan, like kung kakain ako ng full meal or kung kakain ako ng snacks or ng chocolates,” she adds.
She usually has a food keeper, which contains slices of oranges, apples, grapes, and pineapples. Her cousin prepares her pre-game snacks and sometimes the fruits vary depending on the season.
