THE Nike store in Michigan Ave. in Chicago and Adidas store in Manhattan were among shops destroyed and robbed as some protests in the United States turn into a loot-fest.

Protests continued across the US on Sunday (Monday, Manila time) over the deaths of George Floyd in Minnesota, Ahmaurd Arbery in Georgia and Breanna Taylor in Kentucky, but while peaceful demonstrations were held, mayhem ensued in several areas.

Police cars were burned as civilians and law enforcement officers clashed, and stores were broken into.

Thousands of protesters have reportedly been arrested across the country, while two police officers in Atlanta were reportedly fired over excessive use of force.
