PERSONA 3 RELOAD, the remake of the original PS2 classic, is officially out and fans got a chance to try the iconic RPG game and enjoy the festivities during the game's launch event in the High Grounds Cafe.
Among them who attended were cosplayers Myrtle Sarrosa and Cholo Tolentino, who were both seen trying out the 60th level of Tartarus, figuring out the weakness of the boss.
During an exclusive interview with SPIN.ph, Sarrosa admitted that Persona 3 was one of those games that made her emotional due to its narrative.
"I'm super excited. Persona 3 has one of the best stories and isa ito sa nagpaiyak sa akin before, when I was playing it with my brother and I'm just super excited to play the story again, but this time around with more amazing graphics," she reflected.
One of the key reasons for her to experience stem from the characters. She admitted that Mitsuru Kirijo, the lady boss and the leader of SEES (Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad), is her favorite.
However there were other characters that stood out.
"Isa rin sa mga favorite characters is Amada and Shinji. I love their characters a lot. Their scenes in the game was one of the scenes that made me cry."
"There are a lot of moments in the game that really make you guys cry and at the same time could excite you," she revealed.

A darker story arc
Sarrosa's thoughts on the game highlights Persona 3's biggest strength, its storytelling and this was also something that fellow cosplayer, Cholo Tolentino agreed as well to SPIN.ph.
He admitted that the game was his first venture into the series.
"I'm super excited because Persona 3 Portable was actually my first Persona game and it was the one that got me to Persona and to have a remake for it is phenomenal. I'm so excited to see it. The way they leveled up the visuals is so nice."
Then when comparing his experience, to the other titles of the series, he expressed how he admires the third installment's overall narration.
"You have Persona 4, Persona 5, they're a little bit more upbeat, a little bit happier. Persona 3 isn't afraid to tackle like really dark issues."
And like Myrtle, Tolentino highlighted the characters who fleshed out the story.
"In terms of the characters that I like, I absolutely love Akihiko and how he deals with Shinji and both of them are kinda like Batman-esque characters and it's always great to see progress with characters like that at such a young age."
Given their experiences, perhaps this could be a game that's worth the try. Persona 3 Reload is available to play on PlayStations 4 and 5, Windows, and Xbox One and Series X/S.
