PERHAPS, he really was born to help others.
A well-known businessman, serious sportsman, and the No. 1 backer of the national basketball team, Manny V. Pangilinan has one simple wish this holiday. “If I made one, or more than one, person happy, that gives me a lot of comfort and happiness. Yun lang. Yun lang ang wish ko,” says the man the country knows as MVP.
So what do you give the man who has everything?
“Nothing material that I expect to get from anyone,” says the president of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) and the owner of the Talk `N Text and Meralco ball clubs in the PBA. “But, of course, if I receive anything from friends, relatives, and family, I appreciate it—especially the thought of getting something for Christmas.”
Pangilinan also hopes to continue serving the people around him. “Sabi nga nila, it's better to improve from year to year. We can't strive for perfection naman, siguro you can never achieve perfection naman, di ba? Basta every year, mag-improve ka, and you improve the lives of the people year on year, make more people happy, ok na yun.”
“I know that sounds idealistic, but that's really me,” the business mogul says.
