DESPITE the stinging pain, UST freshman Mark Nonoy came back after the halftime break to spur the Growling Tigers to a 84-78 victory over UP on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
At the 4:11 mark of the second quarter, Mark sprained his right foot after landing badly on Juan Gomez de Liano and was sent to the dugout.
"Kanina nilaro ko lang pero sumasakit pa talaga siya," he admitted in an interview with SPIN Life.
The Negros Occidental native still managed to finish with seven markers and three boards for UST, which currently sits in third place with a 6-5 win-loss record.
According to Mark, the team's physical therapist initially diagnosed it as a mild sprain.
The rookie is set to have his foot checked at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital today.
