FANS OF THE beloved classic horror franchise, Silent Hill, can now rejoice as the 2nd installation of the game is being remade.
In their recent trailer, Konami unveiled the core gameplay of the iconic horror game.
The usual staples of classic Silent Hill remains as the grotesque and disturbing creatures are fully fleshed out. The game's signature close-quarter combat and dark atmosphere remains.
Silent Hill 2 tells the story James Sunderland travelling into the fictional town of Silent Hill to look for his deceased wife. As he uncovers the mysteries of the town, he learns more about his wife's death.
The OG PlayStation One classic is lauded for its overall atmosphere, presentation, but most importantly its storytelling centered on profound themes on mental health and grief. It even contains one of the most iconic enemies in horror video games, Pyramid Head.
Prior to the announcement of the remake, 2012 was the last time Konami produced a Silent Hill game with Downpour and Book of Memories becoming official entries to the series. Two years later, Konami released the playable teaser known as P.T., which nearly could've revitalized the series due to its creepy atmosphere and revolutionary gameplay.
