FINALLY! The much awaited 3rd installment of the Bayaniverse is back as TBA Studios unveiled their upcoming film.
From Heneral Luna, to Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, now it's time to uncover the history behind former President of the Republic of the Philippines, Manuel Quezon. Once again, Jerrold Tarog will be directing the biopic.
According to the official website, the film 'Quezon' is set for production starting March 2025.
The movie revolves around President Manuel Quezon's campaign vs. then-President Emilio Aguinaldo, tying up loose ends from the previous films.
According to TBA Studios President and COO Daphne Chiu, “Quezon” will be released both locally and worldwide, meanwhile the website also highlighted that the cast of actors and actresses will soon be announced.
Renowned Filipino actor, Mon Confiado, portrayed Emilio Aguinaldo in previous films, and he was also present during the end-credits scene of Goyo. Meanwhile, Benjamin Alves, played the role of a young Manuel Quezon. During the end-credits scene, it was TJ Trininad who took on the mantle of the older Quezon.
Quezon will carry the huge weight of expectation especially with the success of its predecessors.
Heneral Luna earned the title of being the country's highest-grossing historical film, and it was also the Philippines' official entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards.
Meanwhile, Goyo's profound symbolisms, cinematography, and music have made it into a critical success.
