THE King abandoned his court in Cleveland in the summer of 2018. He left behind the Cavaliers in disarray, a whole lot of losing, and an overall toxic existence. The Cavs have yet to rebuild and climb the ladder once again. As for LeBron James, he’s not doing so well in the kingdom of Los Angeles, either.
A ton has transpired ever since LeBron “took over” the organization: negative media attention, inefficient on-court chemistry, countless trade rumors, injuries to top guys, and struggles to NOT be the bottom seed in the West. On top of that, they lost a more-than-capable coach in Luke Walton and a fitting president in Magic Johnson.
With LeBron stuck and watching the playoffs from home, and, for the first time, not participating in it, there has been a buzz everywhere about the team and The King’s relationship with the franchise.
It may seem obvious to assume that James regrets his decision of ever leaving his Cavs and joining the purple and gold. And now, there are talks of several coaches that the Lakers are still mulling over: Jason Kidd, Tyronn Lue, Monty Williams, or maybe even Kurt Rambis himself.
But, according to The King himself, he’s apparently not unhappy with the franchise. Nor is his relationship with them damaged and needs repairing. Is it all fake news? Well, according to LeBron’s Instagram, it is, as he responded to these claims in the most LeBron James way possible.
Seriously, though, we don’t know what to believe at this point. If we were in LeBron’s size 15 shoes, we’d be clearly frustrated. Maybe he just refuses to let the story spread like wildfire, and just keeps denying it as much as he could.
Or maybe, despite the failures and shortcomings in the City of Angels, he really is not regretting his decision to join the Lakers. For how long he stays happy, though, we don’t know.
