GINEBRA import Justine Brownlee paid tribute to his late agent Sheryl Reyes during his team's first game in the PBA PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum on Friday.
The reigning best import wore a pair of Jordan 4 with the words “Angel in Heaven” and “Agent from Hell” written on the left shoe and “RIP Sheryl” on the right.
Reyes passed away after battling uterine cancer. She was 38.
“I always keep her in mind, what she did for me, not only in my basketball career but also my life,” said Brownlee after Ginebra suffered a 107-108 loss to Blackwater.
“She was a big part of my life," he added. "I just always want to remember and always give her respect.”
Aside from Brownlee, Reyes represented Renaldo Balkman of San Miguel in the PBA and brought the two to play together for San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in the Asean Basketball League where the team won its first title in 2018.
“She got a lot of great imports. Of course, not only me. I'm sure everybody heard about and seen all of her imports. Her legacy is way bigger than just me and my career, what she did for me here in the Philippines,” said Brownlee.
The prolific Ginebra forward, who didn’t get the chance to see his agent before she passed away, hopes to live up the legacy of Reyes.
