STAR setter Jia Morado turns into a fan for her younger brother, Bok.
On Monday, the former Ateneo playmaker came to watch the Spikers’ Turf at the Paco Arena in Manila to be a supportive sister to Bok, who’s also a setter for the Blue Eagle.
Jia’s efforts were not put to waste as Ateneo put on a show, defeating Lyceum of the Philippines University, 25-23, 25-20, 18-25, 25-16, in Group B.
“Before she’s the best setter of the country, she’s my sister first so always ‘yung support comes first,” shared Bok, who revealed that he and Jia were the first rivals.
“Ever since we were kids, kami naman nag-aangatan,” he said. “I always look to her first before anyone else and then listen to coaches. Kaming dalawa, kaming dalawa nag start talaga so I bring that until now.”
Although Bok came off the bench, it didn’t matter to Jia.
She believes that starter or not, her brother is always ready to help the team in any way he can.
““Siyempre yung growth and yung experience na maga-gain niya sa lahat ng games na madadaanan niya. Excited ako to see kung paano siya magpo-progress as a setter,” she said.
“Alam niya naman to play his game kahit ano'ng mangyari, ipasok ‘man siya or hindi. Ready naman siya to play anytime."
