JA Morant added fuel to his rocket-like rise to stardom after signing a shoe contract with Nike.
From relative anonymity at Murray State to basically being a celebrity and the projected No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, Morant continued his meteoric rise after becoming the first top prospect in this draft class to sign a shoe deal.
The 19-year-old point guard confirmed the news with a post on his Twitter account on Monday.

Morant signed a multiyear deal with Nike, the terms of which, though, were not disclosed.
The 6-foot-3 playmaker signed a shoe contract earlier than prospective No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson, who is expected to weigh offers from all shoe companies lining up.
Murant, though, also deserves the spotlight after leading little-known Murray State to the NCAA tournament, dropping a triple-double at the start of the competition and ending up as the first player in NCAA history to average at least 20 points and 10 assists in a season.
“It’s been crazy, honestly,” Morant said at the Draft Combine. “Coming from being under the radar to one of the most talked-about players now, obviously, it’s been rough. It’s something I’m getting used to. But I’m happy for it.”
