JETT Manuel admits it's still a foreign feeling for him to be on the sidelines calling the action as a television commentator.

"I'm nervous and it's still a totally new experience for me," he said on Tuesday after wrapping up his duty in the TV booth together with Anton Roxas for the San Sebastian-JRU game in the NCAA Season 95 seniors basketball tournament.

It's not Manuel's first foray into television, having dabbled in a cameo role while playing for Ginebra in the PBA. But this year is different as the former University of the Philippines Maroon is already a part of ABS-CBN Sports' roster of analysts for the NCAA season six months removed from his abrupt retirement from the PBA.

Manuel acknowledged that he still has a lot to learn, but knows that his adjustments wouldn't be that long since the job is all about the game he loves.

"If I would rate myself, I would be about five out of 10," he said with a chuckle.

"I need to get to know the players and coaches more. Coming from the UAAP, of course, I’ll naturally know about UAAP more than the NCAA. Aside from that, the timing on analyzing and what to say during the game, madami pa akong dapat matutunan. I’m pretty hard on myself naturally so I still need to improve a lot."

Manuel, however, is thankful that he remains connected to basketball, albeit in a different capacity.

"I enjoyed cause I feel like I’m still connected to basketball in a way. And I get to talk about the game I love while seeing young players play where I was once before also. I'm just thankful for the opportunity to do this," he said.
