NOW that quarantine has turned your room into your home office, movie theater, and sleeping quarters all rolled into one, you might have wanted to level up your bedroom a little.
A high school teacher and part-time photographer from Nueva Ecija had the same idea. To turn his idea into reality, he only needed to spend P50,000 to radically transform his room.
Gone were the bare concrete walls and floral curtains. Now, there’s a wall-mounted TV, a carpet, and even mood lighting.

“Ako siguro yung taong very frugal,” said Neil Coloma, a resident of San Jose City. “Talagang close-fisted ako pagdating sa pera.”
It’s this quality that motivated him to renovate his room while keeping his expenses way low. As they say, Shopee is the key — he scoured the internet for good deals and cheap finds in shops on the online sellers' platform. “Ang daming pwedeng bilhin na safe kasi hindi muna kailangan pumuntang market. At the same time mura pa,” Coloma said.
Other tips if you want to renovate your room? Do it all in one go, recommends Coloma.
“Kasi pag minsanan, mas nakaka-excite, yung momentum pag natapos mo sobrang taas,” he said.
