HIDILYN Diaz and Gretchen Ho were incredulous after their names appeared in a matrix of personalities who Malacanang claimed were involved in a plot to discredit the Duterte administration.
Diaz, the reigning Asian Games champion, took to Twitter to deny involvement in a plot to oust Duterte or destabilize his administration, saying she is totally focused on her goals in life and has no time to get involved in political activities.
The 2016 Olympic silver medalist punctuated her tweet with a laughing emoji.
“Dami ko pang goals sa life and Pinas para sumali sa ganyan bagay. Nashock lang ako nalink ako sa ganyan,” Diaz wrote on her Twitter account.
Kaya nga! Dami ko pang goals sa life and Pinas para sumali sa ganyan bagay. Nashock lang ako nalink ako sa ganyan. ???????? https://t.co/4XwJKVl84H— Hidilyn Diaz OLY (@diaz_hidilyn) May 8, 2019
Diaz is currently preparing for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games which the country will be hosting in November and the 2020 Tokyo Games where she is looking to win the Philippines' first-ever Olympic gold medal.
Also implicated was former volleyball star Gretchen Ho, who is now a television host and news reporter for ABS-CBN.
Ironically, Ho's name appeared in the matrix just a day after the former Ateneo Lady Eagles star joined other celebrities in a dinner hosted by Duterte in Malacanang.
"Regarding being included in the “matrix”, I don’t even know who Bikoy is, I have never watched the videos nor shared them, and I have no idea who Rodel Jayme is," Ho said. "You can check all of my social media pages."
Ho has over 763,000 followers on Twitter where she sometimes comments on issues close to her heart. Diaz is just as outspoken, although mostly on issues concerning national athletes.
