IN A PNP briefing held last Tuesday, acting NCR Police Office chief Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas gently reminded the public of what they cannot bring inside the venues for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games.
These include weapons or any sharp objects, bottles, all flammable materials, cigarettes, vape, e-cigs, pets, and laser pointers.

Here's a complete list of prohibited items. (Their policy on bags is explained below this list.)
1. Weapons and firearms
2. Sharp objects
3. Bottles, cups, and cans
4. Pyrotechnic materials
5. Stimulants
6. Large, bulky objects (defined as objects too large to be placed under the seats)
7. Animals
8. Large banners and flags (that exceed 31 x 5 feet)
9. Flagpoles (that exceed 1 meter)
10. Propaganda, including ideological, racist, and xenophobic material
11. Flammable objects
12. "Possible projectiles" (the organizers included sports equipment here)
13. Noisemaking items
14. Laser pointers
15. Video cameras
16. Camera extenders like selfie sticks and tripods
17. Drones
Outside food and drinks will also not be allowed, Sinas added.
The venues will also have a 'clear bag' policy. Backpacks, tinted plastic bags, fanny packs, suitcases, purses, camera cases, duffle bags, and printed bags are no-nos.
The only bags that can be brought inside will be clear tote bags (either vinyl, plastic, or PVC0), one gallon plastic freezer or ziploc bags, or small clutch bags that do not exceed 4.5 x 6.5 inches.
For car and motorcycle owners, the PNP's Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa also said, "We are imposing a ban on indiscriminate use of prohibited sirens, bells, horns, whistles, or similar gadgets that makes loud sounds as well as motorcycle security escorts."
The SEA Games will begin with an opening ceremony in Bulacan's Philippine arena on November 30, and end on December 11.

As early as last week, the police said that it will roll out a widespread gun ban in preparation for the SEA Games. The suspension of the PTCFOR (Permits To Carry Firearms Outside Residence) will begin today and end on December 20, more than a week after the games finish. It will apply to places where events will be held: Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and the province of La Union.
