After 'FEU is apolitical' statement, Tamaraws' student body dares university to take stand

THE VIRAL picture of some FEU volleyball players wearing BBM-Sara shirts has touched off a firestorm within the university.

In the latest turn of events, the Far Eastern University Central Student Council challenged its school administrators to take a political stand in the 2022 Elections, saying, "Ipanalo natin ito para sa lahat."

"We call upon the University to make its stand. Learn from your students and listen to your constituents. Tumindig na kami, sana kayo rin," they said in a statement released on Saturday midnight.

"Education has always been apolitical," it went on. "The Tamaraw core values of Fortitude, Excellence, and Uprightness call for us to stand and fight for the truth — being traditionally apolitical is not part of them."

    FEU community grapples with fallout of viral pics

    The statement was released after photos of its Lady Tamaraws Volleyball Team wearing BBM-Sara shirts went viral on the internet.

    Last Thursday, the FEU student body also changed its organizations' display picture to pink, showing its support for Vice President Leni Robredo's oresidential campaign for the 2022 elections.
