TWO weeks after Arwind Santos scored a perfect run, more athletes appeared in the Eat Bulaga segment “Bawal Judgemental.”

This time, though, SEA Games medalists were on the other side of the fence, awaiting judgment from contestant Empoy and his tsimosang kapitbahay home partner.

Locked behind plexiglass booths, female national athletes Jasmine Alkhaldi, Myla Pablo, Ryry Sanchez, Khate Castillo, Jylyn Nicanor, Chay Rivas as well as Patrimonio scion and tennis prodigy Tin were the participants in the long-running live TV segment.

In the first round, which had the question “Who among them competed in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games?”, Empoy was only able to get three out of four guesses correctly.

First picked, veteran swimmer Alkhaldi proudly shared that she already had 20 Southeast Asian Games medals, 18 bronze and two silvers within her 12-year swimming career.

For the 30th SEA Games held in the Philippines last year, though, Alkhaldi has gone full circle competing in her homeland for the first time.

The Filipino-Arabian athlete also revealed that she has set foot twice in the Olympics and is looking forward to again compete this Tokyo 2021.

When interviewed by hosts Paolo Ballesteros and Wally Bayola, 3x3 women’s basketball gold medalist Castillo said that their two advantages in their golden run last year were “yung bilis po namin and yung teamwork namin.”

It was with Alvin Patrimonio's daughter, however, that Empoy and his home partner committed their first mistake for the first round.

Tin shared that she last graced the SEA Games stage in 2009.

Third chosen, but second correct choice Ryry Sanchez is an arnis SEA Games first timer who brought home silver in the Anyo category.

Fencing veteran Jylyn Nicanor was Empoy's fourth pick. She won gold in last year’s SEA Games. She’s already competed four times in the international league, and has won three medals for the Philippines.

Like Alkhaldi, she’s also looking forward to collect more points to qualify for the Olympics.

After three rounds, Empoy and his home partner finished the segment with P35,000 left in their prize pot. The cash prize will be split between the two of them.
