There are 10 known Elves in the Land of Dawn. These are their stories.

Mobile Legends has an often overlooked and underappreciated lore, which surrounds the races that live in the Land of Dawn. Among those races are the Elves, a diverse group of creatures that trace their heritage from the Azrya Woodlands.

What are Elves in Mobile Legends?

Elves are a fragile race in the Land of Dawn, most of whom dwell in the Azrya Woodlands. Although Elves can live for hundreds of years, they are not immortal and possess fragile bodies. But they make up for this physical weakness with their strong affinity with magic. There are several types of Elves in the Land of Dawn: Moon Elves, Light Elves, Dark Elves, and the mischievous and curious species called Leonins or Cat Elves.

Elves are highly discriminated against by humans, especially among the people of the Moniyan Empire, where they are treated as second-class citizens. Elves who lived in the human territory such as Eudora had to work extra hard to prove themselves worthy of the respect of humans. This is one of the reasons many Elves don’t venture outside the Azrya Woodlands, home of the very ancient Elven race.

The Azrya Woodlands: Home of the Elven Race

All Elves call the Azrya Woodlands their homeland, a place between the Moniyan Empire and the Abyss. The Azrya Woodlands has several domains: The Moonlit Forest, where the race of Moon Elves dwell, the Gleaming Marsh, where the Cat Elves or Leonins thrive, and the Shadow Swamp, the dwelling place of the Dark Elves, corrupted by the Abyss because of its proximity to it. At the heart of the Azrya Woodlands within the Moonlit Forest is the Lunar Temple, where the Moon Elves worship the Moon Goddess, Gavana.

Hundreds of years prior to the Endless War waged by Alice on the Moniyan Empire, the Moon Goddess spent the last of her strength to erect a very powerful Aegis shield surrounding the Moonlit Forest. This shield protected the Elves from the forces of evil. But not for long.

When Alice, Queen of the Abyss, mustered enough power, she led Orc general Balmond, and a very ancient demon, Helcurt, to lay siege on the Moonlit Forest. They had already captured the Shadow Swamp and ransacked the Gleaming Marsh. Only the Moonlit Forest, shielded by the powerful Aegis spell cast by the Moon Goddess, stood between them and the Moniyan Empire.

The powerful Aegis shield was shattered by the sheer magic and strength of Alice's Abyssal forces, and the Elves or their Moon Goddess could not stop the unholy legion. At that moment, Estes, King of Moon Elves, awoke from a deep slumber at the Lunar Temple. The Elves are now embroiled in the Endless War.

As Alice and her Abyssal cohorts shattered the powerful Aegis shield surrounding the Moonlit Forest, Estes, King of Moon Elves, awoke. Prior to his awakening, he was forced into a deep coma due to a serious injury he sustained during the Second Plane War, leaving his sister, Miya, to defend the homeland in his stead. But now that he’s awakened, he uses the Code of Moonlight, a bible to the Moon Elves, to transfuse power to his people, magnified by Sacred Moonlight blessed by the Moon Goddess. Although benevolent and wise, Estes is enraged by how Alice has ravaged the Azrya Woodlands and corrupted hundreds of Elves into the service of the Abyss.

As Priestess of the Moon and servant of the Moon Goddess, Miya was obstinately anti-war and refused to help her brother Estes in the Second Plane War. Estes sustained a serious injury in that war, putting him in a deep coma. Miya justified her inaction, saying that Elves should avoid war at all costs because their people had already suffered enough.

In the absence of Estes, most of the Moon Elves followed Miya's anti-war stance and hid in the protected Moonlit Forest. Miya regretted this decision as her inaction ultimately resulted in the forces of the Abyss growing ever stronger. Alice’s forces were allowed to grow significantly, eventually laying siege on the Moonlit Forest and breaking the Moonlit Forest’s Aegis Lunar Shieldthe largest and most powerful Aegis shield ever cast in the Land of Dawn.

Full of guilt and with the Eternal War on their doorstep, Miya took up her silver bow and led the Elven defenders in battle, with Estes empowering the Moon Elves with sacred energy.

Irithel and Leo went to a human town to seek help, but she was captured by the humans, who discriminated against the Elves and attempted to sell her as a slave. She did not know her heritage until she met Harith, who took her back to the Gleaming Marsh, where she would learn the fate of her people and the threat of the Abyss to her homeland. At the Leonin Temple in the Gleaming Marsh, Joy was struck by lightning twice. She should have died, but instead, she inexplicably absorbed the lightning’s power. As powerful magic flowed out of Joy, other Leonins surged in power, fulfilling a prophecy passed by Leonins for generations: A Miracle Child will return to the Gleaming Marsh and save its people. Although Xavier grew up in Lumina City to a merchant family, he is Half-Elf: his mother was a Light Elf, just like Eudora. But the Monastery of Light is overly unbending and very fundamentalist, executing “heretics.” Xavier became the Church’s top knight, arresting and executing countless “heretics.”

Among the victims of the “heresy hunt” was Terizla and his son Julian, whose mother was killed while defending protecting her son from the Church. Xavier witnessed the death of Julian’s mother in the hands of the Church. He vowed never to turn a blind eye again on pointless massacres and injustices by the Monastery of Light. Xavier left the Church forever and joined the Forsaken Light with Yin, Melissa, and Julian, upholding justice against the Monastery of Light. His title, "Defier of Light," is a taunt to the Monastery of Light, which he defies.

As a Cat Elf, Aulus was very different from his kind. He has a burning passion to become a strong warrior. Every day, he would carry his rusty axe and patrol the Gleaming Marsh but he would be derided by his fellow Leonins who would say they don't need his protection because they are already protected by the magical barrier surrounding the realm. In his anger, Aulus beat up a fellow Leonin, resulting in him being ostracized even more.

Fed up, he decided to travel to the Moniyan Empire with a passing caravan, but the humans also made fun of him and played with his ears, comparing him to a pet cat. So Aulus traveled to the Lantis Mountains, where he met Benedetta. There, Aulus's rage awakened his axe, which turned out to be the legendary battle-axe of his warrior ancestors. He guards the strategic Lantis Mountains against demons and prevents them from entering the Moniyan Empire.

The followers of the Monastery of Light, whose teachings are outdated, are particularly savage toward Eudora and her kind.

The young Dark Elf Selena was captured by demons and sacrificed as an offering to the Abyss. But as she was being consumed the the darkness, a warm blue light erupted within Selena and fought against the Abyssal darkness. The light was the immeasurable force of love that protected Selena from being consumed by darkness: The love of her sister Karina, empowered by the Moon Goddess. The two opposing forces of the Moon Goddess and the Abyss reached a balance within Selena’s body.

But in the depths of the Abyss, an ancient voice spoke: "Leave this girl to me. She will become the strongest warrior of the Shadow Abyss!" Selena was chosen by the Abyss to rule over all demonic forces. Because of this, Alice, Queen of the Abyss, secretly grew in envy.
