FAR Eastern University student-athletes have chipped in for the country's fight against the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Basketball's Wendell Comboy and volleyball's Jude Garcia and Celine Domingo have auctioned their respective jerseys to "May Twenty Ako," with the funds raised to be used to purchase personal protective equipment for medical frontliners.
But it's not limited to the athletes.
Even the students have joined, with various university organizations staging fundraisers to help in the relief operations.
John Michael Lava, a 2013 awardee for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines, is part of the organizers of PAKIG-AMBIT, an initiative of Cebu-based accountants which aims to give out PPE to the province's health personnel.
John Paul Uminga, a former president of the FEU Tamaraw Volunteers, is raising funds for the medical staff of Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital.
FEU's Entrepreneurship Club president Patrick Manuel has also set up a donation drive for his Pantawid COVID Project to give back to the street vendors, pedicab drivers, jeepney drivers, and stranded dormers in Morayta.
