WOULD you root for the Pateros Ducks?
Artist Kristian Koh has posted an entire gallery of Philippine city logos inspired by NBA team marks. Koh takes a distinctive feature associated with the city or province— an airplane for Parañaque , ducks for Pateros, and, uh, the American Cemetery crosses for Taguig — and mashes it with graphic design elements from NBA teams to create a distinctive new emblem.
"A different way to promote the places," the designer wrote to introduce his gallery of logos on Facebook. "All Metro Manila cities plus select Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao cities/provinces."
SPIN Life sought comment from Koh about this "Hello Philippines" series, but he has not replied as of posting.

As the logos were meant to be city or provincial seals and not logos for sports teams, Koh did not put squad names. But that didn’t stop clever commenters from suggesting their own and having a little bit of “pun” in the process. “Benguet’s Pinest,” “San Juan Like Yous,” and “Laguna Baes” were some of the gems thrown around in the comments section.
On the Pasig City emblem, one commenter even said, “Giannis AntetoSotto.”
In his Behance and Facebook pages, the designer has also done unofficial brand redesigns for the visual identities of Angkas, Anytime Fitness, and the SEA Games 2019.
