OUTSIDE of basketball, Davon Potts is also into music and songwriting.

The Alaska rookie quietly launched his first hip-hop single entitled ‘My Time Is Now’ which he himself composed and wrote.

The single was made available on Spotify on Wednesday, but will officially come out on iTunes and Vevo on YouTube on Thursday.

The 25-year-old Fil-Am out of San Beda is among a small group of Filipino artists to be featured by Vevo, an American multinational video hosting service which is a joint venture of three major record companies, namely Universal Music Group, Sonny Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group.

“I have always loved music since I was a child,” Potts, who has yet to crack the main rotation of coach Alex Compton at Alaska, said. “I love composing music because it gives me a sense of freedom.”

More importantly, Potts is proud to see his music video carried by Vevo on YouTube, Spotify, and iTunes.

“This gives the Philippines a new window of opportunity to show the world we are creative in the hip-hop space."
