Decathlon Alabang branch closed over 'suspected COVID-19 case'

DECATHLON has reported a “suspicious case of COVID-19” in one of their branches, the brand announced today.

According to their announcement, the case was detected earlier today in Decathlon Alabang. Decathlon Philippines immediately moved to close the branch. While none of the staff is exhibiting symptoms, the brand is now mandating that all personnel inside undergo testing. In addition, the branch will be disinfected for the next 24 hours.

“The safety of our teammates, users, and partners is our top priority,” said the brand in its statement.

It is unclear how and where the “suspicious case” was detected by Decathlon. We have reached out to brand representatives for comment, and will update the story when it comes in.

Yesterday at midnight, President Rodrigo Duterte announced the extension of general community quarantine over NCR until June 30.
