ONE OF THE most popular memes in social media stem from a Shiba Inu dog named Cheems (real name Balltze) who has brought a lot of joys towards the community due to his facial reactions and expressions.
But sadly, the joy that Cheems brought to the community will be sorely missed as it was announced that the Shiba Inu dog passed away.
It was revealed that Balltze delivered his last breath last August 18, 2023.
Cheems was supposed to be given his chemotherapy treatment after undergoing a surgery, but unfortunately things were already late.
"He fell asleep on Friday morning during his last thoracentesis surgery. Originally, we wanted to arrange chemotherapy or other possible treatment for him after this operation, but it is too late now," as mentioned on Balltze's Facebook post.
Uplifting the community
As Cheems was being treated, he received donations from the community, which will now be used for charity.
"All of you have been very generous and helpful, and I’m truly grateful to all of you, your love and support to Ball Ball (Balltze) is so unconditional and I found that is the purest love in the world, having Ball Ball in my life is the best thing ever happened."
"The donation and brass pins money I have collected for the medical bills will be now donating to local animal charities," said the post.
From his first appearance in 2019, Cheems has been renowned for being able to uplift the lives of people who are struggling during the pandemic.
"A Shiba Inu with a round smiling face connecting you and me, he has helped many people during the pandemic and brought a lot of joy to many of you, but now his mission has completed," said the FB post.
"I believe he is running freely in the sky and having a lot of delicious food with his new friends. He will always be inside my heart. I hope he can continue to bring joy to everyone in the online world, that’s my only humble request."
