CEBUANA volleyball stars Sisi Rondina and Thea Gagate led relief efforts in their hometowns of Compostela and Talisay, respectively, following the devastating onslaught of Typhoon Tino.
Both Rondina and Gagate shared photos of the aftermath near their provincial homes, showing their relatives and neighbors among those affected.
With many properties torn down by the strong winds and heavy rains, families have been seeking essential needs such as food, water, and temporary shelter.
As per Rondina’s social media update on Saturday, she has raised over P200,000 in three days, which has been used to purchase canned goods, coffee, rice, and noodles for distribution in her hometown.
“Nakapag-repack na and ready na mamigay mamaya. Repacked almost 500 relief goods,” wrote Rondina.
“Kahit konti, basta maraming mabigyan. Malaki man o maliit ang donasyon na binigay niyo, marami po tayong mabibigyan at mapapasaya sa mga tulong na binigay niyo.”
Rondina and Gagate have also shared fundraising platforms for those who wish to donate to their respective initiatives.

"I’m knocking on your kind hearts to help me raise funds for my relatives and their neighbors in Barangay Dumlog, Mohon & Biasong, Talisay, Cebu," Gagate said.

"They have been reaching out to ask for food, water, and shelter since their homes are washed out and they don’t have any of their belongings left due to the flooding.
"My family in Cebu City are okay and they are helping me with the groceries and deliveries. Even a small act of kindness can bring comfort and hope to those who lost everything,"
