SWISS rider Fabian Cancellara won the prologue of the Tour de France, a short individual time trial, on Saturday.
Cancellara topped the 6.4-kilometer race against the clock in Liege, Belgium, finishing in seven minutes and 13 seconds.
Bradley Wiggins of Britain was seven seconds slower while Sylvain Chavanel of France was also seven seconds behind.
Cancellara will wear the yellow jersey in Stage One, a 198-km ride from Liege to Seraing.
