CALVIN "The Beast" Abueva received a barrage of criticism from fans of Vice Ganda after he posted a picture of his wife, Salome Alejandra, on Instagram last December 17, with the caption "August 8, 2010."

Abueva and Vice Ganda were linked to each other in September after a photo of them out together circulated on the internet. Fans of the comedian-host felt that the post was a clear "statement" that Abueva mislead Vice Ganda into thinking that they had a special relationship.

CALVIN RESPONDS TO BASHERS
Calvin responded to the criticisms by saying that he will not let those affect him. He defended his actions by saying that his post has nothing to do with his friendship with Vice and insisted that the It's Showtime host was a true friend.
"Alam nyo si vice totoong kaibigan ang asawa asawa talaga wala ako pakealam kung bash nyo ako oh support kayo kame ni vice true friend ang turing ko sa kanya hindi na sya iba sakin," Calvin wrote on Instagram.
Fans sided with Calvin and reminded netizens to respect the basketball player's post.
Many of the basketball star's fans also explained that Vice Ganda knew all along that Abueva has a family and that it was Vice himself who said that they were just good friends.
