WE’VE seen them make waves on the court. Now, they’re about to sound off on what you don't usually see when it comes to playing in the collegiate spotlight.
Three-time UAAP champion King Eagle Thirdy Ravena reunites with Ateneo teammate Anton Asistio for some unfiltered discussions with their newest podcast entitled “No Cap”.
Together with Marc Salandanan, former captain of the Ateneo Golf Team and UAAP juniors basketball player, as well as sportswriter Colin Salao, Thirdy and Anton will bare details about student-athlete life in college.
Explaining the name, “'No Cap' is an American slang for ‘wag mo akong bullsh*tin,'” the new recruit for Japanese team San-en Neophoenix said.
The MPBL player added: “This is no BS, straight to the point, facts only.”
According to the pair, they spent a lot of time coming up with their brainchild podcast, which aims to educate sports fans about the real life of student-athletes.
“Nothing’s given. You have to work for everything that you do, we’ll see how athletes go about their days,” Asistio said.
“We’re gonna tell stories, hear a lot of stories of struggle and success. May matutunan tayo,” Ravena added.
Using their spare time at home during the quarantine, as well as a push from their influential platforms, the two hope that the new audio show would be a bracing bit of fresh air in the middle of the pandemic.
Salao added: “It’s gonna be both light and deep, and raw.”
Supporters can expect more revelations as the "No Cap" pod will have a few athlete guests who will share their stories as well.
