SPITTING FIRE from all cylinders, the Dragons just made the series even steven.
Barangay Ginebra fell short in the last game of the year, 99-82, giving up Game 2 of their finals series against the much-vaunted guest team. The Gin Kings trimmed the lead by the start of the final frame, but it wasn’t enough to push back the Hong Kong squad.
On Twitter, Gin Kings fans acknowledged the loss, but urged Ginebra to step up in the next game, which will be played on January 4. Several also saluted the victorious Dragons.
Some netizens also referenced recent comments made by Bay Area coach Brian Goorjian and import Andrew Nicholson. Speaking in an episode of Spin.ph’s POV podcast, the two spoke up on the physicality and calls they faced in the series, riling up Barangay fans.
Even in the face of an incensed crowd, Nicholson would end up notching 30 points for the Dragons.
