Over the weekend, images of a local neighborhood where the term "streetball" was taken literally went viral.
A concerned citizen uploaded on Twitter a photo and video of a basketball court erected on an actual road, which according to a separate tweet, is along Scout Torillo corner Scout Borromeo.
In the 30-second clip, young ballers are seen playing on both sides, with only a strip of white paint separating them from passing vehicles.

After Facebook page PBA Memes shared the photo, hilarity and anxiety ensued. Some got creative in naming the court's home — or road? — team (DILG Road Masters), while others look forward to the face-off between the local and national government.
As one netizen pointed out, you can literally "drive to the basket" at this open arena.
An earlier post by Barangay South Triangle Facebook online revealed that the road court was apparently an initiative of Barangay Captain Pedro Battung, Jr. and his council called "Basketball Madness 2019."
On Monday, Barangay South Triangle confirmed that the "movable and temporary" basketball court has been dismantled. They also clarified that the project was meant "to get the youth away from playing video/computer games all day by setting up a means of recreation," which was a one-day trial activity.
If you say so, Kap. Filipinos wanted to a streetball culture a la New York, but this wasn't our idea of a local Rucker Park.
